Educational Services for Children and Adults with Learning Differences

Summer Classes 2010:

Sanford Shapiro, founder of the Bend Learning Center, national dyslexia trainer, and Heather Hoyt will be leading Reading Spelling, and Writing classes this summer. Classes are for children ages 4-12.

Classes are designed to help children with learning differences develop effective strategies for reading, writing, and spelling. These two-four-week “language-training” classes will focus on phonemic awareness/phonological processing, and early phonics (the 4-5 year old group), phonics, decoding skills and fluency for reading, and sound-blending strategies for spelling.

The Bend Learning Center uses a research-based, multi-sensory approach approved by the National Reading Panel, and is considered the gold standard for struggling readers.

All this is delivered with a sense of fun and in a sensitive manner, designed to get results.
